Julia is a third-year animal science major at Cal Poly who began as a Vet Assistant at Stenner Creek Animal Hospital in April of 2024. Julia grew up riding horses competitively in the hunter-jumper world; her family owned two warmbloods she showed around the country. At home, in Denver Colorado, she has two great Pyrenees Newfoundland mixes, Zoey and Bea, and has been raised with giant dog breeds her whole life. Julia’s aspirations to be a veterinarian stem from wanting to give back to the horses, dogs, and other animals that have shaped her upbringing. In school at Cal Poly, Julia has been a part of many of the equine-focused enterprises as well as working alongside the swine unit. Julia loves being hands-on with the small animals at Stenner Creek and getting the chance to expand her expertise alongside her coworkers. She hopes to attend veterinary school and continue to work with large and small animals through mixed practice.
